Special Ops

The mission of the Grady EMS Special Operations Team is to provide emergency medical transports for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and provide transport for patients under unusual and potentially hazardous circumstances when safety concerns prevent usual operation by routine emergency medical personnel. The Grady EMS Special Operations Team represents a joint effort between Grady EMS and the CDC.

The Special Operation Paramedics also provide Critical Care transport of patients within the Grady Health System that require acute care ventilators and IV infusion medication pumps. All of these paramedics have received additional critical care training courses and clinical hours in the ICUs.

Grady EMS is requested by the U.S. Secret Service to provide Motorcade ambulances for Presidential and Vice-Presidential details and by the F.B.I. to provide dignitary detail support.
